Caton Bredar

Caton Bredar is an American television and radio personality who works as a horse racing analyst and reporter. She currently works for HRTV, ESPN and ABC and for Sirius Radio. Born Caton Metzler, she is the daughter of trainer Ray Metzler and granddaughter of Hall of Fame jockey Ted Atkinson. Bredar exercised racehorses for many stables throughout the Midwest and East. She earned her trainer's license at age 16 and worked odd jobs in the barn area and on the management side of tracks from Illinois to Florida. Bredar was born in Palatine, Illinois as she grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated cum laude from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois with degrees in English and Secondary Education. After college, her first job was in publicity at Arlington International Race Course where she met her future husband Doug Bredar . Bredar got noted as an on-track handicapper for numerous racetracks as in 1988, she appeared as the on-track handicapper at Arlington Park. She started reporting and producing features for the nightly results show, "Chicago Racing Report," airing on what is now Fox Sports Chicago, as well as the weekly stakes broadcast "Arlington Live," which aired on  ( Wikipedia article )
