Immanuvel Devendrar Military Person

Emmanuvel Devendrar (also called Emmanuvel sekaran) was a schedule caste reformer. He also worked in the Indian army as soldier and discontinued the service. He belongs to Devendra kula vellalar caste. He was murdered on 11 September 1957. His postal stamp was released by the government of India in 2010. His death anniversary day is attended by millions of people in Tamilnadu every year. Emmanuvel devendrar was born on 9th october 1924 to Mr.Vedhanayagam (School Teacher and founder of Devendra kula vellalar sangam,Mudukulathur) and Mrs.Gnanasoundhari Ammal in a village of Sellur, which is located in Mudukulathur Taluk in Ramanathapuram district,Tamil Nadu . He has four children, namely E.Mary Vasantha rani,E.papin vijaya rani,E sundari prabha rani, E.Jansi rani. Emmanuvel sekaran knew 7 languages including Russian language. At the age of 18 Immanuvel devendrar participated in the Quit India movement and he was imprisoned for three months by the British Government. In 1945 he joined the Indian army as soldier. He worked in the Indian army discontiuned and he returned to Paramakudi to become a youth congress leader.
