Kimberly Perry (b. August 1, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is an American activist for children's rights. Perry has worked more than fifteen years successfully mobilizing communities to create a collaborative environment in which legislators and policy makers can be educated and then held accountable for improving the quality of life for vulnerable children and their families. She is respected for her steadfast work in building advocacy campaigns that uniquely empower youth to lead these advocacy efforts. Her leadership has garnered international support for this campaign model and has improved policy outcomes in - children's access to quality health care, food security, school/community wellness; and girls' rights around the world. Raised and inspired by a civically active community, Perry’s early life goals were to work with kids so she set out to become a teacher or child psychologist. After entering college and finding more satisfaction in the student-led rallies and protests rather than the lectures, she quickly realized that while direct service plays a role in developing children, it was collective action that brought about lasting structural change to positively impact  ( Wikipedia article )
