Kishor Shantabai Kale
Kishor Shantabai Kale (1970–2007) was a Marathi writer and social worker from Maharashtra, India. He was an illegitimate son of a Kolhati tamasha dancer. He studied to become a medical doctor. In 2002, he embraced Buddhism. Kale died at age 37 in a car accident. He wrote in 1994 his Marathi autobiography Kolhatyacha Por (कोल्ह्याट्याचा पोर) It was translated into several Indian languages, and also English under the title Against All Odds. The Hindi translation was published under the title Kilhati Ka Chhokra ((किल्हाटी का छोकरा).
