Monce Joseph Politician
Monce Joseph, is an Indian politician, MLA and advocate, was the youngest minister in Kerala's present Left Democratic Front (LDF) ministry in India. He belongs to Kerala Congress (J) party led by P. J. Joseph, and represents Kaduthuruthy legislative Assembly of Kerala. He had been the Minister for Public Works from 18 October 2007 till his resignation for his party chairman P. J. Joseph to become the minister. His parents are O. Joseph and Mariamma Joseph. He had born at Aappanchira in Kaduthuruthy on 30 May 1964 and graduated to M.A, LL.B, Advocate and served as Social and Political Worker. He entered politics through K.S.C while a student. He served as Chairman and General Secretary of K.S.C., Baselius College, Kottayam, President and General Secretary of Students Congress, President, Youth Front (J) State Committee and Kerala Congress Kottayam District Committee. He held position of President of the Post Graduate students’ association and office bearer of various trade unions and served as member of the Kerala youth welfare committee, consumer protection committee, and Mahatma Gandhi University senate. He also held many students’ agitations.

The Kerala Congress, is a recognized regional political party in the state of Kerala. It is the only regional party in the state with strong representation in Kerala Legislative Assembly. The mass base of the party consists of the working class populations, farmers and peasants of the state. The party operates on the ideologies of Secular Democracy and a unique Toiling Class Theory. Presently, the Kerala Congress is the third largest party after the Congress and IUML, in the alliance of United Democratic Front. The UDF, has formed the government in Kerala, after its victory over LDF in the 2011 Assembly elections. The party has 9 MLAs in the current Kerala Legislative Assembly, and one Member of Parliament each, in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The Chairman of the united Kerala Congress is K.M. Mani, presently heads the Ministry of Finance in the UDF-led Kerala government.The party has its roots in the erstwhile Travancore region and is traditionally dominated by the farmers, mostly the Saint Thomas Christians, however leaders from all communities are represented.
Kerala Congress (M)
Kerala Congress (M) is a recognized state level Indian political party in Kerala. It was formed in 1979, through a split from the Kerala Congress. Its leader and chairman is K. M. Mani, the minister for finance,law and housing,Government of Kerala. Its working chairman is P J Joseph. As of 2011, the party has 9 MLAs in the State Legislative Assembly, two members in Parliament and Joy Abraham and an alliance member of the United Democratic Front and United Progressive Alliance On April 30, 2010 another Kerala Congress faction led by P. J. Joseph, which was a constituent of Left Democratic Front decided to leave LDF and merge with KC(M) to form a single united Kerala Congress. For the Kerala Assembly election, the united groups would be contesting under the banner and symbol of Kerala Congress (M) as directed by the election commission. The name Kerala Congress and symbol bicycle which have been claimed by the united group have been temporarily frozen.
