Babloo Prithiveeraj Actor

Babloo Prithviraj, is an Indian film and television actor concentrating in Tamil and Telugu films. He started his career in Malayalam language films in late 80's. Later he shifted his base to Chennai. Now he is a busy Tamil television actor and show anchor. He played a leading role in the 1992 movie Vaaname Ellai and negative roles in movies like Aval Varuvala before moving over to teleserials. Prithviraj played important roles in the teleserials Ramani Vs Ramani and Marmadesam directed by Naga. He also played a major role in the Tamil blockbuster Payanam based on a hijack incident directed by Radha Mohan and as a gangster in the film Vaaranam Aayiram starring Suriya and Sameera Reddy with Gautham Menon In November 2006, Prithviraj got into a heated argument with officials at Bangalore Airport when they prevented his 11-year old autistic son Ahed from boarding an aeroplane reasoning that he was "mentally ill". Prithviraj filmed the whole incident on a movie camera and mailed it to the Indian news channel CNN-IBN.

Vaaranam Aayiram is a 2008 Tamil romantic drama written and directed by Gautham Menon. Suriya plays dual lead roles, with Simran, Divya Spandana, and Sameera Reddy . The film had been under production since late 2006, and was released worldwide on November 14, 2008. It was dubbed and released in Telugu as Surya s/o Krishnan. The film illustrates the theme of how a father often came across his son's life as a hero and inspiration, whose death was deeply mourned in the end. As a tribute to the father of the director, the film opened in several countries with critical acclaim. The film was produced by Venu Ravichandran and has musical score by Harris Jayaraj, making Vaaranam Aayiram his final project with Gautham Menon before the formal break-up of their partnership. It won many awards including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. The film was also a commercial success, eventually becoming the biggest hit in Suriya's career then.
