Sharifuddin Khalifa (Also known as Sharif Idd, born December 1993) is a Tanzanian Hafiz, born to a Catholic family. He is notable for converting roughly 1,000 Kenyans to Islam through his lectures. Khalifa has gathered much attention and has also met with Libyan Leader Colonel Muammar Al-Gaddafi. At the age of five, he was able to speak five languages somewhat fluently (despite the fact that he was completely uneducated at the time): English, French, Italian, Swahili and Arabic. According to his Guardian, Sharif was born into Swahili-speaking Catholic family in Arusha, north Tanzania, in December 1993: "At the age of two months he refused to suckle his mother's milk and at the age of four months he started reciting verses from the Holy Quran." Muammar Al-Gaddafi, is a great supporter following an audience with him in 1998. He has been called the "Miracle Boy" of East Africa. Tours of France and Britain now beckon, according to Haji Maroulin, one of the boy's four guardians. At one year old, he was able to recite the Quran and went on to be able to preach in Arabic, Swahili and French without any learning.
