Sim Wong Hoo (born 1955; Chinese: 沈望傅) is the CEO and Chairman of Creative Technology, a designer and manufacturer of products for personal computers and personal digital entertainment devices. At age 47, Sim Wong Hoo is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Singapore-based Creative Technology Ltd, (Nasdaq: CREAF) an internationally known provider of digital entertainment products and peripherals for personal computers. Creative is best known for its pace-setting Sound Blaster audio card, the brainchild of Sim Wong Hoo.
Sim Wong Hoo was born in Singapore and graduated from Bukit Panjang Government High School and then the Electrical & Electronic Engineering faculty of Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. Trained as an electronics engineer in Singapore’s Ngee Ann Technical College (now known as Ngee Ann Polytechnic), Sim began his career in the private engineering sector after graduating with a diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in 1975.
