Lucius Wade Edwards (July 18, 1979 ¬タモ April 4, 1996) was the first son of former North Carolina Senator John Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He died at the age of 16, when the Jeep he was driving overturned in high winds. Three weeks before his death, Wade Edwards was honored by First Lady Hillary Clinton at The White House as one of the 10 finalists in an essay contest sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Voice of America. He went on to meet North Carolina Sen. Jesse Helms, who entered Wade's essay and his obituary into the congressional record.  ( Wikipedia article )
