Yashwant Sardeshpande (Kannada: ಯಶವಂತ್ ಸರದೇಶ್ಪಾಂಡೆ) is a popular theatre actor, director, playwright, and conducts Kannada plays under the name of his troupe Guru Samsthe, Hubli across Karnataka state, various parts of India and the world. Sardeshpande was the scriptwriter for Kamal Hassan's dialogues in the North-Karnataka Kannada dialect in the Kannada feature film Rama Shama Bama. He has also acted in many Kannada tele-serials and Kannada films, including Amrithadhare. A popular theatre personality, most of Sardeshpande's plays have run for over 500 shows, and include the Kannada plays All The Best, Rashichakra, Olave jeevana Shakshatkara, Neenaanaadre Naaneenena, Sahi Ri Sahi and Hingadre. Sardeshpande has used his plays for propagating the Bharatiya Janata Party election campaign and manifesto in Karnataka during the State elections. and also recently during the 2008 State Elections. Sardeshpande is currently based in Bangalore, Karnataka, busy with his latest project—producing a Kannada feature film Idea Madyara.  ( Wikipedia article )
