Keenan Jackson (born March 9, 1990), most known by his stage name YG (short for Young Gangsta), is an African-American Compton-based rapper and songwriter of the West Coast scenery. He was signed by Def Jam in 2009 and released his first single titled "Toot It and Boot It", which peaked at #67 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 2010. He is most associated with the Jerkin' movement based in California alongside other artists including singer and occasional rapper Ty$, who sings the hook on "Toot It and Boot It". He is affiliated with the group Pu$haz Ink. YG, born Keenan Jackson, was born in Compton, California on March 9,1990. He attended Paramount High School and graduated in 2008. After releasing several songs that garnered him a large following on the internet, such as "She A Model" and "Aim Me" he signed to Def Jam. He is working on his debut album set to be released in 2012. He was also featured in XXL Freshmen Magazine. A song of his entitled "Snitches Ain't", featuring Tyga, Snoop Dogg and Nipsey Hussle, entered the Hot 100 at #100 and at #11 on the Heatseekers Songs chart. Yg is also an actor, starring in the new movie We The Party with director Mario Van Peebles.

Mac & Devin Go to High School is a 2012 American direct-to-DVD stoner film directed by Dylan Brown. The film stars rappers Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa in the title roles, along with Mike Epps, Teairra Mari, Andy Milonakis, Luenell in supporting roles and the voice of Mystikal in a guest appearance. The story follows two high school students, geeky Devin, and badman Mac who is a stoner. He befriends Devin, and introduces him to cannabis. The high school's name "N.Hale" is based on Nate Dogg's real name Nathanial Hale and is also a play on the word "inhale". The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 3, 2012. It marks the film debut of American rapper Wiz Khalifa. The soundtrack for the film was released on December 13, 2011, worldwide in stores.

We the Party is a 2012 film written and directed by Mario Van Peebles. We the Party is a comedy set in an ethnically diverse Los Angeles high school.
